1.  Introduction

At TRAXICO TECHNICAL SERVICES LLC, safety is our top priority. We are committed to providing a safe, healthy, and hazard-free workplace for all employees, subcontractors, clients, and visitors. Our safety policy aims to ensure that every individual in our organization is protected from work-related injuries, illnesses, and accidents.

This policy is designed to meet and exceed all applicable UAE health, safety, and environmental regulations. It serves as a guideline for implementing effective safety measures, hazard prevention programs, and emergency response plans.

Our goal is to establish a “Safety First” culture that promotes proactive risk management, accountability, and continuous improvement in health and safety standards.

2.  Objectives

  Prevent workplace injuries, illnesses, and fatalities.

  Ensure compliance with UAE and international safety standards.

  Encourage a culture of safety awareness, responsibility, and accountability.  Eliminate hazards and control risks through proactive measures.

  Provide employees with safety training and emergency response skills.  Improve workplace ergonomics to prevent long-term health issues.

 Ensure all tools, machinery, and equipment are properly maintained.  Implement emergency response and disaster management plans.

  Reduce environmental impact through sustainable safety practices.

  Protect company assets, including buildings, vehicles, and machinery.

3.  Responsibilities

3.1.   Management Responsibilities

Develop and enforce workplace safety standards and policies. Conduct routine safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections.

Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality HSE guidelines and UAE labor laws. Allocate sufficient budget and resources for safety programs.

 Maintain proper records of workplace accidents, injuries, and near-misses.  Implement and review safety performance KPIs.

  Reward and recognize employees who actively contribute to workplace safety.

3.2.   Supervisor Responsibilities

  Ensure all workers are trained and adhere to site-specific safety rules.  Enforce the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  Identify and report unsafe behaviors, conditions, or equipment malfunctions.  Provide on-the-job coaching and mentorship for safe work practices.

  Stop any activity that poses an immediate safety risk.

3.3.   Employee Responsibilities

  Follow all workplace safety rules, procedures, and instructions.  Participate in mandatory safety training sessions.

  Properly use PPE, tools, and machinery.

  Report all hazards, unsafe acts, and near-misses immediately.

 Refrain from horseplay, reckless behavior, or drug/alcohol use at work.  Take responsibility for their own safety and that of their colleagues.

4.   Workplace Safety Guidelines

4.1.   Fire Safety

  No smoking in restricted areas.

  Keep fire exits and escape routes clear at all times.

 Regular testing of fire alarms, sprinklers, and extinguishers.  Employees must attend fire safety drills and training.

4.2.   Electrical Safety

 Inspect power tools, cables, and outlets before use.  Avoid overloading circuits and improper wiring.

  Only qualified electricians should perform electrical repairs.

  Immediately report any exposed wires, sparks, or overheating equipment. 

4.3.    Chemical and Hazardous Material Handling

Proper labeling and storage of hazardous chemicals.

Workers must wear protective gloves, masks, and safety glasses when handling chemicals.

  Proper ventilation in areas where chemicals are used.

  Disposal of hazardous waste must comply with UAE environmental laws.

4.4.    Machinery and Equipment Safety

 Employees must be trained before operating heavy machinery.  Machines should be inspected daily before use.

  Never bypass safety guards or interlocks.

  Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures must be followed during maintenance.

4.5.    Working at Heights

  Use certified ladders, scaffolding, and harnesses.

  Conduct pre-work risk assessments before working at heights.

 Never work at heights during strong winds, rain, or poor visibility.  Regularly inspect fall protection equipment.

5.  Emergency Response and Crisis Management

5.1.   First Aid and Medical Assistance

  First-aid kits must be available at all work sites.

  At least one trained first-aid responder must be on-site.

  Any injury, no matter how minor, must be reported immediately.

5.2.   Evacuation Procedures

  Evacuation routes must be clearly marked and accessible.

  Employees must participate in emergency evacuation drills.

  Supervisors will act as evacuation coordinators during emergencies.

5.3.   Reporting Workplace Incidents

  All accidents, near-misses, and hazards must be reported immediately.

 Investigations will be conducted to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.  Management will implement corrective and preventive actions.

6.   Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Policy

PPE is mandatory based on job roles:

Construction sites – Hard hats, gloves, steel-toe boots, safety vests. Electrical work – Insulated gloves, protective goggles, arc flash suits.

  Welding work – Welding helmets, heat-resistant gloves, respirators.

  Confined spaces – Full-body harnesses, oxygen detectors, safety lines.

7.  Workplace Violence and Harassment Prevention

 The company has zero tolerance for workplace violence, bullying, or harassment.  Employees should report any threats, abuse, or discrimination immediately.

  Strict confidentiality and non-retaliation policies apply.

8.   Fatigue Management and Work Hours Policy

 Employees should take regular breaks to prevent fatigue-related accidents.  Shift schedules will be monitored to avoid excessive work hours.

  Workers are encouraged to report exhaustion or stress-related issues.

9.   Environmental and Sustainability Commitment

  Reduce workplace waste, emissions, and pollution.

  Implement eco-friendly materials and energy-saving practices.  Encourage paperless documentation and digital workflows.

10.   Continuous Improvement and Policy Review

 The safety policy will be reviewed annually to ensure effectiveness.  Employee feedback will be used to update safety procedures.

  The company will stay updated with new UAE safety regulations.

11.  Ergonomics and Workplace Design

  Workstations must be designed to reduce strain on employees.  Chairs, desks, and tools should be adjustable and ergonomic.

 Employees should be trained on proper lifting techniques to prevent injuries.  Regular breaks should be encouraged to avoid musculoskeletal disorders.

12 & 13. Heat Stress and Working in Hot Environments

Employees working outdoors or in high-temperature areas must take frequent hydration breaks.

Shade structures and ventilation must be provided where necessary.

  Supervisors should monitor employees for heat exhaustion symptoms.  Light, breathable clothing should be worn in extreme heat conditions.

  Ice packs, cooling vests, and electrolyte drinks should be provided as needed.

14.   Confined Space Safety

  Entry into confined spaces (tunnels, tanks, ducts) must follow strict safety procedures.

 Atmospheric testing must be conducted before entry to check oxygen levels, gases, and toxicity.

 Only trained personnel should enter confined spaces, and a standby person should always be present.

  Workers must use harnesses and lifelines in confined spaces.

  Emergency rescue procedures must be clearly outlined and practiced.

15.   Road and Transportation Safety

  Employees driving company vehicles must have valid licenses and undergo defensive driving training.

19.   Fatigue Risk Management

  Supervisors must monitor workers for signs of extreme tiredness that could compromise safety.

20.    Safety Training and Competency Development

26.   Visitor and Contractor Safety Management

 Contractors must comply with TRAXICO TECHNICAL SERVICES LLC’s safety policies.

43.   Machine Guarding and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Procedures
