The cut out size
A new bowl can be bigger than the hole, never smaller. Going bigger means cutting the worktop, which is possible on some materials and not on others.
Plumbing
A new sink is decided by two things: the hole it has to sit in and where the waste comes out of the wall. Both are worth measuring before you buy, because neither can be argued with afterwards.
Start Here
The points where fitting a new one beats repairing the old one.
A crack in the bowl
Ceramic and composite both fail the same way. A crack cannot be repaired and it opens further, usually with water behind it.
The worktop under it has swollen
Water has been getting past the seal for months. The plumbing is the cheap half. New sink installation Dubai is often part of a bigger repair.
Staining that will not clean off
The surface has worn through. On stainless steel that is scratching, on ceramic it is the glaze, and nothing brings either back.
The bowl is the wrong size for the kitchen
A single small bowl in a family kitchen is a daily annoyance. This is the one plumbing change that people notice every day.
Kitchen or bathroom being renovated
The cheapest time by a distance. The worktop is coming anyway and the waste can be moved while the wall is open.
Overview
Removing the old one, fitting the new one and sealing it so the unit underneath stays dry. Professional sink installation Dubai starts with a tape measure.
Kitchen sinks
Kitchen sink installation Dubai for inset, undermount and composite bowls, single or double, with the waste and overflow connected.
Basins and vanities
Bathroom sink installation Dubai, wash basin installation Dubai and basin installation Dubai on pedestals, counters and wall brackets.
Worktop cut outs
Fitting into an existing hole where the sizes allow, and telling you honestly when they do not.
Homes and businesses
Home sink installation Dubai for flats and villas, and commercial sink installation Dubai for offices, clinics and kitchens.
What We Work On
Six things, and every one of them can stop a new sink going in.
The cut out size
A new bowl can be bigger than the hole, never smaller. Going bigger means cutting the worktop, which is possible on some materials and not on others.
Worktop material
Chipboard and laminate cut easily. Quartz, granite and solid surface need a stone cutter, and that is a different trade and a different day.
Cabinet width and depth
A deep bowl needs room under it for the trap. On a shallow unit a standard trap will not fit and a space saving one is needed.
Waste position
Where the pipe comes out of the wall against where the new bowl drains. A small difference is a connector, a large one is pipework.
Tap holes
One hole, two, or none at all on an undermount. A bowl with no hole and a tap that needs one means drilling the worktop.
Support underneath
Undermount and heavy composite bowls hang from the worktop. On a chipboard top that needs proper brackets, not just adhesive.
Scope
The same job for a kitchen bowl or a bathroom basin.
Measure before you order
Cut out, cabinet, waste position and tap holes. We would rather do this before a delivery than after one.
Isolate and remove
Water off, old sink out, and the old bowl taken away rather than left for you to deal with.
Check what is underneath
The unit base, the waste connection and the hoses. A new sink on a swollen base or a hardened hose is a call back.
Fit and support
Clips, brackets or a frame depending on the bowl. A heavy undermount bowl needs to be carried by something other than sealant.
Seal properly
Old sealant cut out completely, the surface cleaned and dried, then sanitary silicone. Sealant over sealant never sticks.
Connect and test
Waste, overflow and feeds connected, then the bowl filled and released so the trap is tested under load rather than a trickle.

How It Works
Five steps, and the first one saves the most money.
Measure and advise
The four numbers, plus what your worktop is made of. That tells you which bowls actually fit before you spend anything.
Agree the work
A drop in replacement, or a cut out and a moved waste. Two very different prices, and you should know which before ordering.
Remove and inspect
Old sink out, everything under it checked and anything already wet dealt with.
Fit, support and seal
Bowl set, supported, connected and sealed with the old sealant fully removed first.
Test and clear away
Filled and released, cupboard watched dry, packaging and the old bowl taken with us.
The Decision
The worktop decides more than the sink does.
| What you have | What it needs | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Same size, laminate worktop | Drop in swap | Straight replacement into the existing cut out. A couple of hours. |
| Slightly bigger bowl, laminate top | Cut out enlarged | Laminate and chipboard can be cut on site. Sealing the raw edge properly is the important part. |
| Any size change, stone worktop | Stone cutter first | Quartz and granite need a specialist. We fit after they cut, not instead of them. |
| Undermount bowl on chipboard | Brackets and sealing | The bowl hangs from the top. Adhesive alone lets go eventually, usually while it is full. |
| Old sink sound, waste leaking | Repair instead | A trap or a seal is a much smaller job, and we will say so rather than fit a new bowl. |
If the bowl is fine and only the pipework leaks, sink repair Dubai is the cheaper answer. A new tap at the same time is faucet installation Dubai.
Why TRAXICO
Everything that goes wrong with a new sink was decided at the fitting.
We measure before you order
A sink installer Dubai homeowners recommend is one who stopped them buying a bowl that did not fit the cabinet.
Old sealant cut out completely
Silicone does not stick to silicone. Most sink installation contractor Dubai visits run a fresh bead over the old one and it lifts within a year.
Heavy bowls supported properly
Undermount and composite bowls are carried by brackets, not by adhesive. Adhesive lets go when the bowl is full of water.
New hoses and valves
Fitted while the cupboard is empty. Reusing a ten year old hose on a new sink is how a new installation floods a kitchen.
Tested full, not trickled
The bowl is filled and released so the trap and the waste are tested under real load before anything is put back.
The old bowl leaves with us
Taken away rather than left by the bins. Small thing, and it is the one people mention.
Worth Knowing
Three things worth knowing before you buy a sink.
01 / 03
A replacement bowl can be larger than the existing cut out. It can never be smaller.
That is the whole rule, and it is why the cut out is the first measurement. A slightly larger bowl covers the old hole and can be trimmed to fit. A smaller one leaves a gap that nothing hides.
What changes everything is the worktop material. Laminate over chipboard can be enlarged on site in an hour. Quartz, granite or solid surface need a stone cutter with the right tools, which is a different trade, a different day and a different price.
02 / 03
The failure people meet a year after a new sink is almost never the pipework.
It is the seal between the bowl and the worktop. Water sits at that joint every day, and once it finds a way past, it goes into the cut edge of the chipboard where nothing can dry.
The way to get it right is unglamorous. All the old sealant comes out, the surface is cleaned and properly dried, and a sanitary grade silicone goes on in one continuous bead. Running new silicone over old is quick, looks fine and fails.
03 / 03
An undermount sink hangs underneath the worktop, so something has to carry its weight.
On a stone top the bowl is usually bonded and clipped, and stone is strong enough to take it. On a laminate or chipboard top the same approach does not hold, because the board swells at the cut edge and lets go.
The answer is brackets or a support frame in the cabinet, so the bowl is carried by the unit rather than by the sealant. A bowl full of water is heavy, and adhesive tends to fail at exactly that moment.

Questions
A like for like swap into an existing cut out is a couple of hours. Changing the size, or working on a stone worktop, adds a stage and sometimes another trade, so we measure before quoting.
The cut out size, the cabinet width and depth, where the waste comes out of the wall, and how many tap holes you need. A new bowl can be bigger than the hole but never smaller.
No, and nobody should do that with a hand tool on your kitchen floor. Stone, quartz and solid surface need a stone cutter with the right equipment. We fit after they have cut.
Yes, along with the packaging. Leaving a ceramic basin or a steel bowl by the bins is not disposal.
Almost always because new silicone was run over old. Silicone will not bond to itself, so the bead looks right and lifts within a year. All of the old sealant has to come out first.
Yes, and they are cheap. Reusing hoses that are already years old on a new installation is how a new kitchen ends up flooded, and the cupboard is empty right now anyway.
Yes. Offices, clinics, salons and commercial kitchens, worked out of hours where a sink being out of use would stop people working.
We work across the whole city. Marina, JLT, JVC, Downtown, Business Bay, Mirdif, Al Barsha and Deira are all normal working areas.
