AC Duct Installation Dubai

Ductwork decides whether cooled air reaches the room or leaks into your ceiling void. AC duct installation Dubai comes down to sizing it correctly, sealing every joint, and keeping the vapour barrier intact — three things you cannot inspect once the ceiling closes.

Overview

Duct design and fitting for new systems and replacements

New ductwork for a fit-out, replacement of runs that have failed, or extensions where a property has been reconfigured. Designed to move the right volume of air to each room quietly.

What it covers

Duct sizing and routing, GI sheet metal and pre-insulated fabrication, flexible connections, insulation and vapour barrier, grilles, diffusers, dampers and balancing.

Why it matters

An undersized duct starves the far rooms and makes the system noisy. Unsealed joints deliver your cooled air into a ceiling void you are also paying to cool.

Residential

Villa ducted systems, apartment concealed units, and extensions where an existing system was never designed to serve the new space.

Commercial

Office fit-outs, retail, restaurants and clinics, including fresh air and extract, coordinated with ceiling and fire-stopping work.

Symptoms

Signs your ductwork needs work

Duct problems are usually blamed on the AC unit, because the ducts are hidden and the unit is not.

Book soon

One room never cools like the others

Classic duct symptom. The run to that room is undersized, crushed, disconnected, or has a damper that was never balanced. No amount of unit servicing fixes it.

Book soon

The system is loud when it runs

Air moving too fast through a duct that is too small for the volume. Usually a design fault from the original installation rather than anything failing now.

Urgent

Damp patches or stains on the ceiling

Often condensation on a duct where the vapour barrier has been breached, not a plumbing leak. It gets misdiagnosed for years while the plasterboard rots.

Book soon

High bills with mediocre cooling

Leaking joints can deliver a substantial share of your cooled air into the ceiling void. You pay to cool a space nobody occupies.

Routine

The property has been extended or reconfigured

A duct layout designed for the original rooms will not serve a knocked-through space or a new extension. The system may be fine; the distribution is not.

Routine

A new fit-out with no ductwork yet

New premises or a shell-and-core unit. Everything is still open, which is the cheapest and best moment to get the design right.

Book soon

Duct survey found crushed or torn runs

Flexible duct pinched above a light fitting or torn by a previous cleaning attempt. Once the liner is damaged, cleaning it again will not help.

Urgent

Ductwork soaked by an old water leak

Wet insulation in a sealed void never dries. Replacing the affected sections is the only real fix — cleaning around soaked lining achieves nothing.

Why TRAXICO

Why choose TRAXICO for AC duct installation Dubai

Specific commitments rather than adjectives.

Sized by calculation

Duct dimensions worked out from airflow volume and static pressure for each branch, not scaled off whatever fitted the ceiling void most easily.

Vapour barrier kept intact

The detail that causes ceiling stains two years later. Every penetration sealed, because a breached barrier means condensation inside the insulation.

Joints sealed and checked

Mastic and approved tape on every connection, then a leakage check before the ceiling closes. Unsealed ductwork is invisible and permanently expensive.

Balanced at every outlet

Dampers set and airflow measured room by room at commissioning. A duct system that has never been balanced always has one room nobody can cool.

Experienced fabricators

Sheet metal made to the drawing rather than improvised on site. Long-radius bends and proper transitions, because sharp turns cost you pressure and add noise.

Coordinated with other trades

Ceiling, electrical and fire-stopping work sequenced so access panels land where they are needed rather than being cut in afterwards.

Transparent pricing

Quoted from a survey and a drawing, itemising material, fabrication and labour. Ductwork priced over the phone is a number invented to win the call.

Dubai-wide coverage

Thirty communities, from Downtown and DIFC through the waterfront developments to Al Barsha, Deira, Mirdif and JVC.

Scope

What AC duct installation Dubai includes

From survey to a balanced, commissioned system.

  1. 1

    Survey and load data

Room-by-room airflow requirement established from the cooling load, plus a measure of what the ceiling void actually allows for routing and depth.

  2. 2

    Duct design

Sizing calculated for each branch against static pressure and target velocity, with a layout that keeps runs short and bends long-radius.

  3. 3

    Material selection

GI sheet metal, pre-insulated board or flexible connections chosen per section. Each has a place; using flexible for everything is the cheap shortcut.

  4. 4

    Fabrication

Ducts made to the drawing with proper transitions and turning vanes where the layout needs them, rather than improvised at height on the day.

  5. 5

    Installation and support

Runs hung on correctly spaced supports so nothing sags, with flexible sections kept short, straight and fully extended rather than compressed to fit.

  6. 6

    Insulation and vapour barrier

Insulation applied and the vapour barrier sealed at every joint, hanger and penetration. This is what stops condensation forming inside the ceiling.

  7. 7

    Grilles, diffusers and dampers

Outlets selected for the throw each room needs and positioned to avoid dumping cold air straight onto a seat or a desk. Balancing dampers fitted at branches.

  8. 8

    Commissioning and balancing

Airflow measured at every outlet and dampers adjusted until each room gets its design volume, with the readings recorded and handed over.

Not covered by this service

Quoted separately, so nothing appears on your invoice unexpectedly.

  • The AC unit itself, quoted as a separate installation
  • Ceiling construction and making good, unless agreed in advance
  • Fire damper supply where the building requires certified units
  • Structural alterations needed to create a routing path

How It Works

How AC duct installation Dubai works, step by step

A project rather than a call-out, so the sequence matters.

  1. 01

    Tell us the scope

New fit-out, replacement, or an extension to an existing system. Floor plans or photographs of the open ceiling save a visit and sharpen the quote.

  2. 02

    Survey

Void depth, routing options, existing system capacity and where outlets can physically go. Ductwork is constrained by the building before anything else.

  3. 03

    Design and quote

A layout with calculated duct sizes and a fixed price itemising material, fabrication and labour. You see the drawing before anyone orders metal.

  4. 04

    Permits and sequencing

Building approvals submitted where required, and dates agreed with your ceiling and electrical trades so nobody is waiting on anybody.

  5. 05

    Fabrication and installation

Ducts made to the drawing, hung, connected and sealed. We ask you to look at the run before the ceiling closes — it is the last chance to see it.

  6. 06

    Leakage and pressure check

System checked for leaks while everything is still accessible. Finding an unsealed joint now costs minutes; finding it later means opening a ceiling.

  7. 07

    Balancing and handover

Airflow measured at each outlet, dampers set, readings recorded. You get the commissioning figures rather than an assurance that it is fine.

Benefits

What professional AC duct installation Dubai gives you

Ductwork is invisible once installed, which is exactly why the quality of it matters.

Every room actually cools

Correctly sized and balanced ducts deliver the design airflow to each outlet, instead of the nearest rooms taking everything and the far ones going without.

You stop cooling the ceiling

Sealed joints keep conditioned air inside the duct. Leakage on a poorly built system can waste a significant share of what you pay to produce.

No condensation damage

An intact vapour barrier keeps humid void air away from cold duct surfaces, which is what prevents the ceiling stains that get blamed on plumbing.

A quieter system

Air sized to a sensible velocity moves quietly. Most duct noise is a design decision made years earlier, not a fault that developed.

The unit works less

A system that distributes properly reaches setpoint and stops. One fighting bad ductwork runs continuously and wears out sooner.

Access where it is needed

Panels placed at dampers, coils and junctions during the build, so future servicing does not start with cutting a hole in your ceiling.

Worth Knowing

What decides whether AC duct installation Dubai is any good

Ductwork is buried above a ceiling within days of being fitted. These are the things worth understanding before that happens, because afterwards you cannot see any of them.

Sizing: the calculation behind AC duct installation Dubai

Every branch of a duct system has to carry a specific volume of air, and the duct has to be large enough to move that volume at a sensible velocity. Too small and the air moves too fast — which produces noise, wastes fan energy as friction, and starves whatever is at the end of the run.

The correct method works backwards from the cooling load of each room to the airflow it needs, then sizes each duct section against the static pressure the fan can deliver. It is arithmetic, and it takes an hour with the load figures in front of you.

The shortcut is to fit whatever diameter of flexible duct is on the van and fits the ceiling void. That is why so many Dubai properties have one bedroom nobody can cool and a system that roars. Neither of those is fixable by servicing the unit, and both were decided before the ceiling went up.

The vapour barrier, and the ceiling stain two years later

This is the most consequential detail in the whole job and the one customers are never told about. A duct carrying air at around 12°C runs through a ceiling void that in a Dubai summer may sit at 35°C with high humidity. The duct surface is well below the dew point of that void air.

Insulation stops heat moving in. The vapour barrier — the foil facing on the outside — stops moisture reaching the cold surface. If that barrier is torn, unsealed at a joint, or punctured by a hanger and left, water vapour migrates through, condenses inside the insulation, and stays there.

What happens next takes eighteen months to two years. The insulation stays permanently wet, grows what wet insulation grows, and eventually the plasterboard below it stains. The owner calls a plumber, who finds no leak, and the cycle repeats. We are called to a surprising number of these, and the fix is always replacing duct sections that were installed badly rather than any plumbing repair.

When your ceiling is open, look at the foil facing on the ducts. It should be continuous and taped at every joint and hanger. If you can see grey insulation exposed anywhere, say so before it closes.

Rigid, pre-insulated and flexible: each has a place

GI sheet metal duct, insulated externally, is the traditional choice for main trunks. It is strong, holds its shape, cleans well and lasts decades. It costs more to fabricate and needs a proper insulation and vapour barrier layer applied over it.

Pre-insulated board — rigid phenolic or PIR panels cut and assembled on site — is light, quick, and comes with the barrier built into the facing. It is common in Dubai fit-outs and works well when the joints are made properly, which is where the workmanship shows.

Flexible duct has one legitimate use: short connections between a rigid branch and a diffuser, kept straight and fully extended. It is also, unfortunately, cheap and fast, which is why entire systems get built from it — long sagging runs full of bends, each one costing pressure. A flexible run compressed to two-thirds of its length can lose a large share of the airflow it was meant to carry.

Sealing, and where your cooled air actually goes

Duct joints leak unless they are deliberately sealed. Slip joints, branch takeoffs, damper frames and the collar where a flexible run meets a rigid branch all need mastic or approved tape, applied properly rather than a wrap of duct tape that dries out and falls off within a couple of years.

Leakage on a badly built system is not a rounding error. Air escaping into the ceiling void is air you paid to cool, and it never reaches the room, so the system runs longer to compensate. You are, quite literally, air conditioning a space nobody occupies.

A leakage check before the ceiling closes takes very little time and is the only moment it can be done cheaply. We ask you to be there for it if you can, because seeing your own ductwork sealed and tested is worth more than any assurance afterwards.

Balancing: why one room is always wrong

Air takes the easiest path. Without balancing dampers set correctly, the rooms nearest the unit receive far more than their share and the furthest receive almost nothing. This is the single most common complaint about ducted systems in Dubai, and it is not a fault — it is an installation that was never finished.

Balancing means measuring the actual airflow at each outlet and adjusting the dampers until every room gets what the design says it should. It takes a couple of hours with the right instrument and it is the last step of a proper commissioning.

It is also the step most frequently skipped, because the system appears to work without it and the customer has no way to tell. Ask for the commissioning figures. A system that was balanced has a sheet of numbers; one that was not has nothing.

Ductwork, cleaning and the unit are three separate jobs

These get confused when people are trying to work out who to call. If the ducts are physically sound but dirty, you want AC duct cleaning Dubai — extraction and brushing, no new metal.

If the unit is the problem, that is AC repair Dubai or, for a new system, AC installation Dubai. Duct installation is the right answer when the distribution itself is wrong: undersized runs, crushed flexible, unsealed joints, wet insulation, or no ductwork at all in a new fit-out. Our survey tells you which of the three you are actually looking at before anyone quotes for the most expensive one.

What moves the price

Total duct length and outlet count
The primary driver. A single concealed unit serving three rooms and a villa system with twenty outlets differ in material, fabrication time and labour.
Material specification
GI sheet metal costs more to fabricate than pre-insulated board but lasts longer and cleans better. The right mix depends on the layout and the budget.
Ceiling void access
An open ceiling during a fit-out is the cheapest case by a wide margin. Working through existing access panels, or creating them, adds substantially.
Routing difficulty
A shallow void, structural beams to route around, or services already in the way all add time and often force a less efficient duct layout.
Removal of existing ductwork
Stripping out old runs, particularly water-damaged insulation needing careful handling and disposal, is separate work from installing the new.

No surprises on the invoice

You get a fixed price against a drawing, itemising material, fabrication and labour. If the survey shows the existing ductwork is sound and only needs cleaning or a repair, we will tell you that instead of quoting a replacement.
