AC Installation Dubai

A badly installed air conditioner will never work properly, however good the unit is. Getting AC installation Dubai right comes down to three things most customers never see: correct sizing, a proper vacuum before charging, and the right fall on the drain line. We get those right.

Overview

AC installation Dubai, done to specification

Installation is the one stage of an air conditioner’s life you cannot redo cheaply. Everything the system does for the next decade is decided in the few hours it takes to fit.

What it covers

Load assessment, unit supply, indoor and outdoor mounting, refrigerant pipework, drainage, electrical connection, evacuation, charging and commissioning.

Why it matters

An oversized unit short-cycles and never dehumidifies. A skipped vacuum leaves moisture in the lines that corrodes the compressor from the inside. Neither shows up on day one.

Residential

New splits in apartments, multiple systems in villas, replacing units that have reached the end of an economical life rather than being repaired again.

Commercial

Offices, retail and clinics, including ducted and multi-split systems, phased so the premises keep trading through the changeover.

Symptoms

Signs it is time to replace rather than repair

Repair is usually the right answer. These are the situations where it stops being so.

Routine

The unit is past ten years old

Dubai duty is roughly triple that of a temperate climate. Past ten years, a major failure usually costs a large share of a new unit while leaving you an inefficient one.

Urgent

The compressor has failed

The single most expensive component. On an older system, replacing it frequently costs more over two summers of running than a new unit would have.

Book soon

It runs on R22 refrigerant and leaks

R22 is phased out and no longer produced. Supply is reclaimed stock and priced accordingly, so recharging an R22 leak is a holding measure rather than a repair.

Book soon

You are repairing it every season

Three call-outs in two years is a system telling you something. At that point the repairs cost more annually than the finance on a replacement.

Routine

The property has been extended or reconfigured

A unit sized for the original room will not cope with a knocked-through space or a glazed extension. It will run continuously and still lose.

Routine

Some rooms never get cool

Often an undersized or badly positioned system rather than a faulty one. No repair fixes a unit that was the wrong choice to begin with.

Routine

A new-build or a fit-out with no system

New premises, a converted space or a villa extension. Here the decisions are all still open, which is the best position to be in.

Routine

You want lower running costs

A modern inverter unit can cut consumption substantially against a ten-year-old fixed-speed system. Over a Dubai summer that difference is not small.

Why TRAXICO

Why choose TRAXICO for AC installation Dubai

Specific commitments rather than adjectives.

Sized by calculation

Heat load worked out from room volume, glazing, orientation and occupancy — not a rule of thumb per square foot. Oversizing is the most common installation error in Dubai.

Experienced installers

Flare joints made properly, lines evacuated to a vacuum and held, charge weighed in rather than guessed. The parts nobody sees are the parts that decide the lifespan.

Genuine units and materials

Manufacturer-supplied units with the warranty registered in your name, and copper pipework rated for the refrigerant rather than whatever was on the van.

Transparent pricing

One fixed price covering unit, materials, labour, removal and disposal of the old system. No separate charges appearing after the work is done.

Commissioned before we leave

Pressures, temperature split and amperage measured and recorded with the system running under load. You get the numbers, not just a working remote.

Building approvals handled

Most towers require a permit before anyone drills a core through an external wall. We supply the licence, insurance and method statement they ask for.

Dubai-wide coverage

Thirty communities, from Downtown and DIFC through the waterfront developments to Al Barsha, Deira, Mirdif and JVC.

Aftercare that follows on

A new system still needs servicing to keep its warranty valid. We schedule that rather than leaving you to remember it.

Scope

What AC installation Dubai includes

The full sequence, in the order it happens on site.

  1. 1

    Site survey

Room dimensions, glazing, orientation, insulation and occupancy measured, plus where the outdoor unit can physically go and how far the pipe run will be.

  2. 2

    Load calculation

Cooling requirement worked out from that survey. This determines capacity — the number that decides whether the system will ever work properly.

  3. 3

    Unit recommendation

Two or three options with the trade-offs explained: inverter against fixed speed, capacity, efficiency rating, and what each means for your running costs.

  4. 4

    Removal and disposal

The old system decommissioned, its refrigerant recovered rather than vented, and the unit taken away. Venting refrigerant is illegal and we do not do it.

  5. 5

    Mounting and pipework

Brackets fixed to structure, indoor unit levelled, copper lines run and insulated, drain set with a continuous fall. The drain gradient is where most water leaks begin.

  6. 6

    Electrical connection

Correctly rated cable, an accessible isolator, and terminations checked. Undersized cable on an AC circuit is a fire risk, not a corner to cut.

  7. 7

    Vacuum and charge

Lines evacuated to a deep vacuum and held to prove they are tight, then refrigerant weighed in to the manufacturer figure adjusted for pipe length.

  8. 8

    Commissioning

Run under load with pressures, temperature split and amperage measured and written down. Warranty registered, controls explained, site left clean.

Not covered by this service

Quoted separately, so nothing appears on your invoice unexpectedly.

  • Structural or builder work needed to create an opening
  • Distribution board upgrades where the supply is inadequate
  • Ductwork fabrication, quoted separately on ducted systems
  • Building permit fees charged by your management company

How It Works

How AC installation Dubai works, step by step

From first call to a commissioned system.

  1. 01

    Tell us the property

Room sizes, how many units, and whether this replaces something existing. Photos of the current setup and the proposed outdoor location save a visit.

  2. 02

    Survey visit

We measure rather than estimate. Pipe run length, outdoor unit position, electrical supply and drainage route all affect both price and performance.

  3. 03

    Quote and options

A fixed price with two or three unit choices and the trade-offs spelled out. Nothing is ordered until you have picked one.

  4. 04

    Permits and scheduling

Where the building needs a work permit, we submit the paperwork. Approval takes as long as your management takes, so we start it early.

  5. 05

    Installation day

A single split unit is typically half a day. Multiple systems or a ducted installation runs longer, and you get a realistic schedule beforehand.

  6. 06

    Commissioning

Vacuum held, charge weighed in, system run and measured. The readings go on your paperwork so future servicing has a baseline.

  7. 07

    Handover and warranty

Controls explained, warranty registered in your name, first service scheduled. Site cleaned and the old unit gone.

Benefits

What professional AC installation Dubai gives you

The difference between a good installation and a quick one takes years to show — which is precisely the problem.

Lower running costs

A correctly sized inverter unit modulates instead of cycling on and off. Against a ten-year-old fixed-speed system the difference over a Dubai summer is substantial.

Proper dehumidification

An oversized unit cools the air fast, satisfies the thermostat and stops before it has pulled the moisture out. The room ends up cold and clammy.

A longer service life

Moisture left in the lines by a skipped vacuum reacts with the oil and corrodes the compressor from the inside. Evacuating properly is what prevents that.

No water leaks

A drain set with a continuous fall drains. One set level, or worse uphill, backs up into the ceiling eventually — and that damage costs more than the installation.

A warranty that holds

Manufacturer warranties require correct installation and evidence of servicing. A claim on a badly installed unit is refused, and the paperwork is what decides it.

Quieter operation

Most noise complaints come from mounting rather than the unit. Brackets fixed to structure with proper isolation stop vibration transmitting through the wall.

Worth Knowing

What decides whether AC installation Dubai is any good

Four things determine how a system performs for the next decade, and a customer standing in the room cannot see any of them. Here is what to ask about.

Sizing: the most common AC installation mistake in Dubai

The most common installation error in Dubai is fitting a unit that is too large. It sounds counter-intuitive — surely more capacity means better cooling in this heat — but an oversized air conditioner cools the air to the setpoint quickly, satisfies the thermostat and switches off before it has run long enough to pull the humidity out. You end up with a room that is cold and damp, and a compressor starting and stopping far more often than it should.

Short cycling is hard on equipment. Every start draws a surge of current, and a compressor that starts six times an hour ages considerably faster than one that runs in longer, steadier cycles. Oversizing also costs more to buy and more to run.

Correct capacity comes from a load calculation: room volume, glazing area and orientation, insulation, how many people typically occupy it, and what heat-producing equipment is in there. A west-facing living room with floor-to-ceiling glass needs materially more capacity than a north-facing bedroom of identical floor area. Any installer quoting purely from square footage is guessing, and guessing high is the safe direction for them and the expensive one for you.

The AC installation step that always gets skipped

Before refrigerant goes into a new system, the pipework has to be evacuated — pumped down to a deep vacuum that boils off any moisture and removes the air. Done properly this takes time, and the vacuum then has to be held and watched to prove the joints are tight.

It is also completely invisible to the customer, which is exactly why it is the step that gets rushed. A system charged without a proper vacuum works perfectly on the day. The moisture left inside reacts with the compressor oil to form acids, which attack the windings and the internal components over the following years. The unit then fails at five years instead of twelve, and nobody connects it back to the afternoon it was fitted.

Ask your installer whether they will pull a vacuum and hold it, and for how long. Someone who does this properly will answer immediately with a number. It is the single most useful question you can ask.

Drainage: the detail that floods ceilings

An air conditioner in Dubai pulls a remarkable amount of water out of the air, and all of it has to leave through a narrow condensate pipe under gravity. That pipe needs a continuous fall along its entire run — no dips, no level sections, no rising back up over an obstacle.

On the day of installation a drain set badly still drains, because the volume is low and the pipe is clean. Months later, once dust and biofilm have narrowed it, the first dip becomes a trap, water backs up in the pan and finds its way out through the ceiling instead. We are called to a great many of these, and almost every one traces back to the pipe run rather than the unit.

If you can see the drain line during installation, look at it. It should fall continuously away from the indoor unit. If any part of it runs level or climbs, say something while it is still easy to change.

Choosing between inverter and fixed speed

A fixed-speed compressor has two states: on at full output, or off. An inverter varies its speed to match the actual load, running slowly and continuously once the room reaches temperature rather than cycling.

In this climate the difference is significant, because the system spends most of its life at part load rather than flat out. Inverter units cost more to buy and consistently less to run, hold temperature more evenly, and are quieter because they rarely start from a standstill. On a system that will run six months a year for a decade, the arithmetic favours the inverter clearly.

The exception is a space used intermittently — a guest room, a store, somewhere that gets cooled for an hour and switched off. There, the running-cost advantage never has time to accumulate and a fixed-speed unit is the sensible purchase. We will tell you which situation you are in rather than defaulting to the more expensive option.

What happens to your old unit during AC installation

The refrigerant in your existing system has to be recovered into a cylinder before the unit is disconnected. Venting it to atmosphere is both illegal and environmentally serious, and it is quicker, which is why it happens.

You will not see it either way. If the installer disconnects the lines and you hear a hiss, that is your refrigerant going into the air. Recovery equipment is a pump and a cylinder, and it is obvious when it is being used. Ask.

We recover, remove and dispose of the old unit as part of the price. It does not appear as a separate line afterwards, and it does not get left on your balcony for someone else to deal with.

Installation, repair and maintenance are different jobs

These get conflated, and the distinction matters when you are deciding what you actually need. If your system has stopped working, what you want is AC repair Dubai — a diagnosis first, then a fix, and usually far cheaper than replacement.

If it works but has drifted, book AC maintenance Dubai instead — cleaning and checking on a system that still functions. Installation is the right answer only when repair no longer makes economic sense, and we will say which of the three you are looking at before quoting for the most expensive one.

What moves the price

The unit itself
Usually the largest single component. Inverter units cost more than fixed speed, higher efficiency ratings cost more than base models, and capacity drives price directly.
Pipe run length
The distance between indoor and outdoor units determines copper, insulation, labour and often additional refrigerant. A short run through one wall and a long run across a roof are different jobs.
Where the outdoor unit goes
An accessible balcony is straightforward. A roof, a shaft, or a position needing scaffolding or a bracket over a drop adds time and equipment.
Electrical supply
Where a suitable circuit and isolator already exist, connection is quick. Where a new circuit has to be run from the board, that is additional work and quoted as such.
Replacement or first fit
Replacing like for like in an existing position is the cheapest case. A first installation needs core drilling, a new drain route and new cabling.

No surprises on the invoice

Everything is quoted as one fixed price after the survey — unit, materials, labour, removal and disposal. If the survey shows the job is different from what was described on the phone, you hear that before anything is ordered.
